Assam: Ration Card Distribution Programme Held in Tezpur

The Department of Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs of the Government of Assam officially launched the first phase of distribution of new ration cards

Tezpur: The Department of Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs of the Government of Assam officially launched the first phase of distribution of new ration cards on the basis of new Legislative Assembly constituencies on December 15, reiterating its commitment to ensuring food security for all. In this first phase today, the ceremonial distribution of new ration cards for four out of five Legislative Assembly Constituencies of Sonitpur District, namely LACs of 66-Barchalla, 67-Tezpur, 68-Rangapara, and 69-Naduar, was also held in the respective LACs. 

For the event held for Barchalla LAC at the Bapuji Bhawan, Thelamara, MLA Ganesh Kumar Limbu graced the occasion as chief guest, accompanied by Additional District Commissioner Garga Mohan Das and other dignitaries. A total of 20,009 new ration card beneficiaries against a total of 4,686 families will benefit from Barchalla LAC.

For the event held for Tezpur LAC at the Darrang College Auditorium, MLA Prithiraj Rava graced the occasion as chief guest, accompanied by Additional District Commissioner (I/c F&CS) Smti. Dyotiva Bora, Additional District Commissioner Kabita Kakati Konwar, Deputy Director of Supply Sonitpur Giridhar Deka, and other dignitaries. A total of 16,172 new ration card beneficiaries against a total of 3,878 families will benefit from Tezpur LAC.

For the event held for Rangapara LAC at the Phulaguri Durga Mandir, MLA Krisna Kamal Tanti graced the occasion as the chief guest, accompanied by Additional District Commissioner Twahir Alam and other dignitaries. A total of 19,269 new ration card beneficiaries against a total of 4,653 families will benefit from Rangapara LAC.

For the event held for Naduar LAC at the Pokamurapathar, Jamugurihat, H MLA Padma Hazarika graced the occasion as chief guest, accompanied by District Commissioner Ankur Bharali, Co-District Commissioner of Naduar Co-District Raj Boruah, and other dignitaries. A total of 25,257 new ration card beneficiaries against a total of 5,016 families will benefit from the Naduar LAC.
