Assam: Repolling held at Gutung; 85.76% voter turnout

Re-voting was held at Polling Station No. 47 in Gutung Primary School, Bokakhat, following EC orders after the first phase of the Panchayat polls.

BOKAKHAT: While the first phase of the Panchayat election in Bokakhat co-district of Golaghat district concluded on Friday along with other regions, re-voting was conducted today at Polling Station No. 47, Gutung Primary School, under 15 No. Disoi Gaon Panchayat, which falls within 3 No. Mohura Zila Parishad, as per the directives of the Election Commission.

The re-voting was necessitated due to an error by the polling officer during the earlier process. Today, a voter turnout of 85.76% was recorded. The polling station had a total of 583 registered voters.
