Assam: Review meet held for smooth conduct of NEET UG 2025 in Sonitpur district

TEZPUR: A review meeting regarding the upcoming National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2025, scheduled to be held on May 4 in Sonitpur district, was convened on April 17 under the chairmanship of District Commissioner Ankur Bharali at the Conference Hall of the DC’s Office, Sonitpur, Tezpur.

The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police Barun Purkayastha, ADC-cum-Nodal Officer (District Administration) Kabita Kakati Konwar, ASP-cum-Nodal Officer (Police) Madhurima Das, ADC (Magistracy) Twahir Alam, magistrates assigned to each examination centre, members of the district level committee for the conduct of the examination, superintendents of the examination centres, and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, the District Commissioner emphasized the need to maintain the sanctity and integrity of the examination process. Notably, all five examination centres in the district are government educational institutions.

Discussions were held on ensuring strict vigilance, secure handling and movement of examination materials, and proper storage protocols. He also stressed the importance of adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SoP) for student verification and frisking, continuous monitoring of examination centres, and effective coordination among all stakeholders to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examination.

The DC also directed strict vigilance and legal action against any malpractice, reiterating the government’s commitment to upholding the highest level of transparency in the examination process. It may be noted that the NEET UG 2025 will be held on May 4 from 2:00 PM onwards.

In Sonitpur district, the examination will be conducted across five centres: PM Shri KV, Missamari, PM Shri KV, No. 2 AFS, Tezpur, KV No. 4, Tezpur University, PM Shri KV, No. 1, Solmara, and PM Shri KV, Lokra. A total of approximately 2,160 candidates are expected to appear for the examination across these centres.
