SILCHAR: Assam Rifles during search and combing operation apprehended self style sergeant of NSCN (K) identified as Taluat Pao from the general area of Namdaiong village under Jirighat police station of Lakhipur sub division on Thursday. From his possession was recovered one 22 mm pistol and five rounds of ammunition.
The cadre was handed over to Jirighat police station for further investigation and necessary legal action against him under relevant sections of IPC and Arms Act. The operation was launched by Kadamtala Battalion under aegis of Hqr 21 sector and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East).
