TINSUKIA: A group of 11 NSS Volunteers from Sadiya College, Chapakhowa, represented the Dibrugarh University Contingent at the 7-day NSS National Integration Camp held at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana, from March 21 to 27. Dr Nakul Neog, Programme Officer, NSS Unit, Sadiya College, led the team as the Contingent Leader.
During the 7 days of the camp, 200 NSS volunteers from 13 different states of the country, exchanged ideas, culture, and traditions with each other. They also got exposure to talks and sessions from various resource persons on spirituality and science, Viksit Bharat, motivations to lead a stress free life, importance of blood donation, etc.
Team Assam showcased various cultural performances like Borgeet, folk dance, folk songs, and Bihu. Rose Boruah, a student of Sadiya College, secured first prize in the solo song competition at the NIC.
The valedictory session was graced by Dr LR Bishnoi, former DGP, Meghalaya, as the Chief Guest. Prof BR Komboj, VC, CCSHAU, Hisar, Shrawan Ram, Regional Director, Regional Directorate of NSS, New Delhi, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. Dr LR Bishnoi, IPS, specially thanked and praised Team Assam for the wonderful cultural performances, especially Bihu, showcasing the vivid culture of the state. Dr Nakul Neog presented the dignitaries with Assamese Fulam Gamusa.
