DIBRUGARH: Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal formally laid the foundation stone for the new Kendriya Vidyalaya building in Dibrugarh on Saturday. The much-awaited project to be built with an investment of Rs. 38 crore is expected to fulfill the educational needs of the region.
On the day of the ceremony, Sonowal also highlighted the importance of the new structure in reinforcing academic facilities for the students as well as teachers. He mentioned, "Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh, has been an abode of excellence in education, molding generations of students. This new complex, driven by the vision of 'Viksit Bharat' of our beloved Prime Minister Narendra Modi, confirms our promise of developing young minds."
The Union Minister emphasized the necessity of creating a holistic learning environment that is conducive for students, teachers, and parents. He thanked Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the counsel in having the fund sanctioned for the project.
The former Assam CM also emphasized aligning the new facility with the vision of the National Education Policy for inclusive education, promoting designs that include green spaces to create an environment conducive to creativity and curiosity among students.
The event was graced by a number of dignitaries, including Prasanta Phukan, Minister for Power and MLA of Dibrugarh, as well as other local authorities. Sonowal concluded by highlighting the pivotal role of education to propel growth and innovation in Dibrugarh as a hub for economic growth in the future.
