SIVASAGAR: To ensure a disciplined and focused learning environment, the Inspector of Schools in Sivasagar district, Assam, has issued new guidelines regarding the use of mobile phones by teachers during class hours. The directive aims to prevent teachers from using mobile phones for personal reasons while in class.
According to the instructions, teachers are not allowed to carry mobile phones to class, except for academic purposes, such as recording attendance. Any other academic use of mobile phones must be approved in advance by the school’s head.
The Inspector has emphasized that all school staff must adhere to this rule, and failure to do so may result in disciplinary action. School heads in the district have been instructed to implement the guidelines immediately, with non-compliance leading to strict consequences. This move is aimed at ensuring a disciplined and productive learning environment for students.
Meanwhile, the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) will conduct the HS and HSLC exams from February 13 to March 17, and February 15 to March 3, respectively. To ensure smooth conduct, the Department of School Education has formed supervision committees at the state and district levels.
These committees will oversee safety, security, and proper handling of question papers. Strict measures, including mobile phone bans for staff and police escorts, will be in place. Police will verify the sealed cartons of question papers, and SOs must ensure proper distribution and storage of papers and answer scripts.
