JAMUGURIHAT: Tyagbir Hem Baruah College joyfully celebrated Basantotsav 2025 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The festivities began with the hoisting of the flag and a formal inauguration by Dr Khanjan Kumar Das, Associate Professor in the Department of Assamese and Nodal Officer of the college. In his inaugural address, Dr Das delivered an engaging analysis on the significance of Bihu in the cultural life of the Assamese people.
Following the inauguration, a vibrant day-long cultural programme commenced with a traditional Husori performance by the Jamuguri Anchalik Bihu Husori Dol. Students from various departments showcased their talents through lively group Bihu performances. Adding to the festivities, Kasturi Devi, along with other students, delighted the audience with soulful Bihu songs. A graceful Jhumur dance led by Rashmirekha Tanti, along with mesmerizing songs and dances performed by the local Lajitora Bihuwa group and solo Bihu dance performance by Adriti Kashyap Tamuli, a little girl from Biswanath Chariali further captivated everyone present. The event anchored by student Pahi Bora, concluded with a collective Bihu performance by students, teachers, and staff demonstrating spirit of unity and celebration. Nibedita Bharali, Professor in charge, Student’s Union, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the grand success of the event at the end.
