Assam: Sribhumi police seized drugs worth Rs 30 crore

In a major crackdown on the inter-state drugs racket, the Sribhumi police had seized a huge quantity of Yaba tablets from a SUV coming from Imphal.

SILCHAR: In a major crackdown on the inter-state drugs racket, the Sribhumi police had seized a huge quantity of Yaba tablets from a SUV coming from Imphal. A total of 1.50 lakh tablets were recovered from the vehicle. Based on a secret information, the Sribhumi Police stopped the vehicle at Kandigram in Badarpur and arrested two persons on Thursday. They were identified as Yahaiya Khan of Moirang in Manipur and Suman Uddin of Patharkandi in Sribhumi district. Estimated price of the seized drugs in the international black market would be not less than Rs 30 crores, a police source claimed.
