Assam: Swift Police Action Leads To Rescue Of Kidnapped Teenager In Guwahati

The police tracked the girl in Guwahati where she was confined by the alleged kidnapper identified as 21-year-old Mohibur Khan of Sonapur.

GUWAHATI: In a thrilling turn of events, a 19-year-old girl was safely rescued by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) and Sonapur Police Station after being abducted on her way back from Dimoria College. The abduction took place soon after she had finished her Higher Secondary exam.

The young lady showed great courage as she was able to call her elder sister when she was subjected to the ordeal. This key communication triggered a series of actions that resulted in her speedy rescue. On receiving the information, the SOG and Sonapur Police promptly brought their resources into play to trace the victim.

The authorities tracked the girl in Guwahati where she was confined by the alleged kidnapper identified as 21-year-old Mohibur Khan of Sonapur. Police carried out the coordinated operation where they managed to rescue the girl from the kidnapper's hold. After her rescue, police declared that criminal proceedings have been initiated against Khan, who is under police custody.

Meanwhile, a shocking case of gang rape has surfaced in Sonapur, where a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by four men, making her pregnant. The crime came to light when her family realized her condition and interrogated her, prompting the victim to reveal the serial rapes she had suffered in silence. On a complaint, the Sonapur police arrested the suspects: Bikash Karmakar, Bishnu Kariya, Ravi Karmakar, and Ranjan Karmakar, and are probing possible other suspects.
