Assam: Tea workers stage protest at Rajabari estate over wages and land rights

Tea workers protest at Rajabari tea estate demanding ₹351 wages, land pattas, and solutions to pressing issues, led by ATTSA’s Morangi sub-branch.

BOKAKHAT: At the Rajabari tea estate near the Numaligarh Refinery, a massive protest was staged on Thursday under the initiative of the Morangi sub-branch of the All Assam Tea Tribes Students’ Association (ATTSA) with the cooperation of various primary units. The protestors raised demands including the prompt fulfilment of the government’s promise to increase workers’ wages to Rs 351, arrangement of land pattas (land titles) for tea workers, and the resolution of various other issues faced by tea workers.
