JAMUGURIHAT: A case of theft took place at the Shiva temple located at Malor Gaon under Sootea PS on Wednesday night. According to information, the thief entered the temple premises breaking the lock of the entrance and stole valuables including cash, brass metals, bells (ghanta) besides other utensils. The local residents spotted the incident this morning and immediately informed the Sootea Police. Later on, a team of Sootea Police reached the site and began an investigation.
It is pertinent to mention here that cases of theft are on the rise in and out of the Greater Sootea area. The namghars and the temples of the greater area are facing the challenges of theft at present. The people have urged the authority concerned to take up the issue as early as possible.
