KAKOPATHAR: A tragic road accident occurred late Wednesday night, December 18, at Nabajyoti village in Assam's Kakopathar, killing three people, including a woman and an Arunachal Pradesh police constable.

The accident happened when a three-passenger Hyundai i10 rammed head-on into an unoccupied dumper which was parked on the edge of Kakopathar. The impact was so massive that all three passengers-including the woman-died at the spot.

Narayan Dubey, a police constable from Arunachal Pradesh, who was inside the Hyundai i10, is among the victims. The driver of the dumper, whose identity could not be known, was rushed to a nearby medical facility but both were declared dead on arrival.

Early investigations so far have been focusing on two main factors leading to the accident: the visibility and the wrong parking of the dumper. It is said that the car was parked in a position where it was not possible for the car moving ahead to notice the presence of the dumper before the collision.
