TINSUKIA: Tinsukia will get a new EdTech Skill Development University, marking a significant development under the "Advantage Assam 2.0" initiative. This announcement was made during the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment & Infrastructure Summit 2025, held on February 25-26 in Guwahati.
The summit, organized by the Government of Assam, aimed to position the state as a premier investment destination by showcasing its strategic advantages and growth potential.
The upcoming university in Tinsukia will focus on equipping students with globally relevant skills, particularly in emerging technologies. This initiative aligns with Assam’s broader strategy to enhance its educational infrastructure and create a skilled workforce that meets national and international industry standards.
Meanwhile, the Tinsukia District Administration signed 41 MoUs with intended investors and entrepreneurs who have invested Rs 269.75 crore, ensuring direct employment of around 1150 youth at an event held in the District Commissioner's Office, Tinsukia.
The MoUs are being signed as a parallel event to coincide with the ‘Advantage Assam 2.0—Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025’—the ‘Investors’ Summit, which began on February 25, at the Veterinary Field, Khanapara, Guwahati.
Tinsukia is all set to usher in growth and development in allied sectors and verticals, with substantial reserves in coal and petroleum and high production potential in the tea industry.
