DIBRUGARH: A woman from Dibrugarh has demonstrated self-reliance by baking cakes, and she is now instructing other women—the majority of whom are housewives—who aspire to be successful in life. Khalida Noorin, a Dibrugarh woman has showed way to self-reliance by imparting training to hundreds of women and young people in cake baking. Khalida is now running baking classes in Dibrugarh and women and girls come to her to learn the technique of baking. Bakery is one of the largest markets of the food processing sector in India and now most of the house wives are baking cakes. Noorin, who owns an NGO named “The Light”, has already showed the way to self-reliance to hundreds of women and girls by imparting training in cake preparation.
Khalida Noorin said, “I have been giving training to unemployed women on baking cakes. Now, most of them are doing a good business and I have my customers in many places. I loved to bake cakes and now it has given me a good business.”
“Girls and women from Tinsukia, Jorhat, Bokakhat, Sivasagar and Dibrugarh come to me to take training on cake baking. The girls and women are very enthusiastic and they want to do something in life which impresses me a lot,” said Khalida Noorin.
She added, “If you have dedication and want to do something in life then you must do. Its my passion and I have changed my passion into business.”
When thousands of unemployed people in Assam have to migrate to other states in search of employment at the same time, many people of the state have shown a beautiful example of self-reliance through their hard work.
