Assam: Training on beautician technique held in Nagoan

A fortnight-long training on beautician technique activity under Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) sponsored by NABARD at Saruhissa near Batadroba in Nagoan successfully ended recently.

NAGAON: A fortnight-long training on beautician technique activity under Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) sponsored by NABARD at Saruhissa near Batadroba in Nagoan successfully ended recently. The programme was conducted by implementing agency Gramya Unnayan Sangstha in which master trainer Nijumoni Borah attended the programme as the key faculty. Over 30 women members from the greater Batadroba areas participated in the training programme.

In the valedictory programme, Rajendra Perna, DDM, NABARD, Rajib Borah from SBI, Batadroba, Stuti Sarma from Assam Gramin Vikas Bank, Pinky Saikia, ASRLM, CRP attended the valediction session of the programme as the special invitees. While addressing the occasion, Rajendra Perna, DDM, NABARD said that the MEDP programmes were being organized to bridge the skill deficits and to facilitate optimisation of production activities by women self help group members.

During the programme, the participants were trained on record and book keeping, enterprise management, business dynamics and practical sessions regarding facial makeup, bridal makeup, eyebrow shaping, skin toning, hair straightening and dressing as well as eyelash extension etc, he said, informing that during the programme, the trainees were also taken on a day long exposure visit to two different units.

The programme has upgraded the technical and entrepreneurial skills of the trainees so that the participants can join and work in any of the nearby beauty parlour or start their own unit for earning, Perna asserted. The valedictory session of the programme was mentored by Mukut Deka, secretary of the implementing agency Gramya Unnayan Sangstha.
