Assam: Training On Post-Cocoon Technology For Silk Industry Conducted In Udalguri

The Off-Campus Training Programme on Post-Cocoon Technology for Eri, Muga, and Mulberry was inaugurated on 4th February 2025 at the District Sericulture Office in Udalguri.

UDALGURI: The Off-Campus Training Programme on Post-Cocoon Technology for Eri, Muga, and Mulberry was inaugurated on 4th February 2025 at the District Sericulture Office in Assam's Udalguri.

Rajib Kumar Bhuyan, Director of the State Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Assam, Khanapara, Guwahati, was the chief guest for the event.

The program, organized by SAMETI in collaboration with the Directorate of Agriculture, Assam, and the District Agriculture Office, Udalguri, was attended by several distinguished dignitaries.

These included Dipak Medhi, District Agricultural Officer of Udalguri; Dwijen Choudhary, Assistant Director of Agriculture and DPD-I, CSS-ATMA, Udalguri; Naba Kumar Sarma, Assistant Director of Sericulture, Udalguri; and Anup Kumar Barman, Senior Technical Assistant, RSTRS, Central Silk Board, Guwahati, along with other officials from CSS-ATMA and the Sericulture Office.

This three-day training, which ran from 4th to 6th February 2025, aimed to improve skills in post-cocoon technology for eri, muga, and mulberry silk.

Meanwhile, the Tangla Veterans Association held its 32nd Annual Conference-cum-Get-Together on Wednesday at its office in Tangla, Udalguri. Over 500 former Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force members gathered to celebrate their contributions.

The event began with the hoisting of the association’s flag and a tribute to martyrs. Col. Pradeep Singh Tumar, Commanding Officer of the 81st Field Regiment, was the chief guest and reaffirmed the Indian Army's commitment to veterans' welfare. The event also honored senior veterans and their families for their sacrifice, strengthening the bond within the veterans' community.
