NAGAON: The Nagaon police arrested two notorious brokers from Panikhaiti area in Nagaon here on Thursday. According to sources, the arrested brokers have been identified as Baputi alias Rekib Ahmed and Riaz Ahmed, who were posing as close associates of police officials. The duo was allegedly extorting money from innocent people by claiming to have connections with the police.
According to reports, Baputi and Riaz would introduce themselves as having close ties with the police and promise to help people with their cases in exchange for money. However, their true intentions were exposed, and they were caught by the Nagaon police. The police registered a case (492/25) against Baputi alias Rekib Ahmed and Riaz Ahmed.
