GUWAHATI: In an unusual and alarming incident, a small village in Assam's Kamrup district, Milanpur, witnessed an unexpected and frightening fox attack that resulted in injuries to 10 individuals, including women and children. The typically shy and non-threatening nature of foxes took a terrifying turn as the creature went on a rampage, causing chaos and panic in the village.

Local sources reported that the fox first targeted cattle and livestock, injuring them before turning its aggression towards residents. The animal exhibited an unprecedented level of aggression by biting and scratching multiple people before escaping into the nearby woods. In the aftermath of the attacks, all the injured victims were swiftly taken to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

Among the injured, Niral Kalita, a 45-year-old woman, suffered severe injuries and had to be referred to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for further treatment and care.

The situation escalated when, on a Tuesday morning, the fox struck again, attacking another woman in the area. This time, the residents, understandably fearful and angry, decided to take matters into their own hands. They captured the fox and, in a bid to protect their community, mercilessly battered the animal to death before burying its lifeless carcass.

As news of the unprecedented fox attacks spread, the local forest authorities were promptly informed of the incident, triggering a response to assess and investigate the situation further.
