BOKAKHAT: Mitrajot (AGP-BJP) swept all 4 Zila Parishad seats in Bokakhat, sealing a clear win in the 2025 Panchayat polls on Monday morning.
In the 1st Zila Parishad’s Kaziranga seat, BJP candidate Sita Panika defeated Indian National Congress candidate Mamoni Dalek by a margin of 7,527 votes, securing 14,399 votes.
In the 2nd Bokakhat Zila Parishad seat, AGP candidate Mamoni Gajalu emerged victorious with 12,842 votes, while her nearest rival, Congress’s Rashmi Kakoti, received 7,157 votes. The Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) candidate Barnali Neog Dutta got 1,730 votes.
In the 3rd Mohura Zila Parishad seat, AGP’s Noren Bori won with 11,448 votes. His competitors, Congress’s Abhijit Kachari and Raijor Dal’s Nripen Moran, received 5,413 and 4,041 votes respectively.
In the 4th Rongamati Zila Parishad seat, BJP’s Purnima Das secured victory by defeating Kunjamoni Das by 6,547 votes. Purnima Das received 14,685 votes, Kunjamoni Das 8,238 votes, and AJP’s Puja Rabidas got 2,901 votes.
Additionally, in the 20 Anchalik Panchayat constituencies of Bokakhat Subdivision, the following candidates were declared winners: AGP’s Nijora Dutta (Kaziranga Gaon Panchayat), BJP’s Prarthana Hazarika Duara (Madhya Kaziranga Gaon Panchayat), BJP’s Karabi Bora (Purbha Kaziranga), AGP’s Mrinmoy Roy (Uttar Purbha Kaziranga), AGP’s Bhavesh Pegu (Mori Dhansiri), BJP’s Minu Dalek (Dakshin Kaziranga), AGP’s Dipali Karmakar (Bokakhat), BJP’s Pradip Kumar Bora (Mohmaiki), BJP’s Bhaskar Jyoti Das (Rajabari), AGP’s Mamu Das (Kuruabahi), BJP’s Lakhimi Tanti (Bihora), AGP’s Geeta Bhakta Kachari (Numaligarh), BJP’s Ananta Saikia (Madhya Mohura), BJP’s Mousumi Daw Taid (Uttar Mohura), AGP’s Suresh Loying (Disoi), BJP’s Buli Pegu Mili (Dusutimukh), AGP’s Jayanti Pathori Loying (Golong Temera), AGP’s Achinta Dutta (Purbha Mohura), AGP’s Priyanku Moni Gogoi (Badulipar), and AGP’s Umesh Rabidas (Rongamati).
Meanwhile, from the 200 Wards across the 20 Gaon Panchayats of Bokakhat Subdivision, 200 independent ward members were elected. It is still unclear which political parties these independent members will support.
