Assam: Week-long special camp organized in Kandhulimari village near Dhing

NAGAON: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Dhing College, under the Gauhati University NSS wing, has launched a week-long special camp in Kandhulimari village near Dhing on Saturday. The camp, aims to provide students with hands-on experience in community service and skill development so that they can be empowered by providing them with opportunities to participate in community service activities, develop their skills, and enhance their ability to work in teams.  The theme of the camp is “Skill Development through Youth Empowerment.” The camp features a range of activities, including life skill training by Divyajyoti Baruah, a journalist and NEAID’s coordinator, yoga training by Arogya Yoga Kendra, Dhing, led by Rupajyoti Kar, Trishal Dey, and their team.

Besides, a slew of  resource persons from various fields will provide training and guidance to participants. Dr Rupshree Devi, HoD, Department of Philosophy, Mahapurush Shrimanta Sankaradeva University, Dr Chinki Barman, Subject Matter Specialist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nagaon, Dr Harun Ahmed, Consultant, World Bank, Rajiv Dutta and Prabhat Chandra Das, among others will be present during week long camp as resource persons. As a part of the camp, students will conduct a socio-economic survey of 100 households in the village.
