Assam: Woman critically injured in elephant attack in Golaghat

A woman, identified as Mainu Barua, was seriously injured in a wild elephant attack in Golaghat’s Marangi area.

NUMALIGARH: A woman, identified as Mainu Barua, was seriously injured in a wild elephant attack in Golaghat’s Marangi area, specifically in the 3 No. Falangani Village, under the Murphulani forest beat office, early on Friday morning at around 6am. According to eyewitnesses, the wild elephant was roaming in the area when it attacked the woman, who was outside her home at the time.

The elephant trampled the woman, leaving her with severe injuries. Local residents immediately rushed her to the Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital in Golaghat for treatment. The woman is currently in critical condition and undergoing treatment. This incident highlights the growing concern of human-wildlife conflict in the region.
