DHUBRI: The World Water Day was observed at Shankardev Shishu and Bidyaniketan in Bilasipara on Saturday. The programme was organized by Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gati Vidhi and Aranya Suraksha Samiti, Assam.
Students, teachers, and several social workers attended the programme and held an awareness meeting on the occasion.
The meeting was presided over by Biswajit Goswami, Principal of the higher secondary section of Shankardev Shishu and Bidyaniketan.
Northeast coordinator of Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gati Vidhi, Nripen Nath explained the significance of World Water Day and need for fresh water conservation while secretary of Aranya Suraksha Samiti, Assam, Dr. Haricharan Das spoke about water conservation and scientific use of it Several distinguished persons including principal of Shankardev Shishu and Bidyaniketan, Shibaji Karmakar, and vice-principal, Sanchita Kalita attended the meeting.
