MAJULI: A young man who had gone on a picnic with his friends has gone missing from Afalamukh Ghat, a well-known tourist spot in Assam's Majuli district.

The missing individual has been identified as Pinku Hazarika. According to reports, some belongings of the missing person have been found on a boat.

In a statement to the media, Pinku's brother said, "Around 3:40 pm, I received a call from Jyoti Maina, one of my brother’s friends who had accompanied him on the picnic. She told me that they were dancing together at around 11:30 am, and during that time, Pinku stepped aside to take a call but never returned."

"Meanwhile, Jyoti Maina also called my relative and shared the same story, but the times didn’t match. She told me that Pinku had disappeared around 11:30 am, but to my relative, she said it was around 2:30 pm," he added.

He further stated, "Based on his statement so far, it appears that foul play was involved in my brother's disappearance."
