Assam's Lady Singham: Woman Police Officer Arrests Her Boyfriend in Nagaon

Guwahati: Nagaon Police have arrested a high profile fraudster named Rana Pogag. The officer named Jonmani Rabha arrested Rana Pogag and handed him over to Nagaon Police on May 2 after learning about Rana who cheated many people.

Rana had been arrested by the police on the basis of Junmoni's FIR and they took him into custody for two days.

The youth from Majuli had developed an affair with women sub-inspector Junmoni Rabha, who was working at Nagaon Sadar police station.

Rana had earlier introduced himself as a public relations officer of the Oil and Gas Commission of India to Jonmani Rabha. She later identified Rana Pogag as a high profile fraudster.

The fraudster had withered money from many individuals in the name of giving them jobs.

 Several fake sealings belonging to the ONGC had been confiscated by the police from the fraudster.

Meanwhile, a notorious honey trap racket had been busted by the Sivasagar police on May 4 and two persons who are connected with the incident had been arrested.

According to reports, the individuals who were accused had been apprehended allegedly on charges of luring a businessman and later blackmailing him for money.

The accused had been identified as Dipankar Das and Joydeep Das and the duo had earlier siphoned off Rs 4 lakh from the businessman.

The duo demanded money from the businessmen yet again but their attempt did not succeed this time around as the businessman filed a complaint with the police, after which they were arrested.

The police informed them that the mastermind of the racket is still absconding and raids are being carried out in Dergaon to capture him.

Several other individuals including a woman, who is involved in the racket, have reportedly vanished in thin air after they got to know about the police raids.

The police have said that some of them have been identified as Ashik, Sabina Begum Saiful Ali, Diganta Das and Rubul Ali.
