Tezpur: An active TB-HIV screening and awareness camp was organized by District TB Control Society Sonitpur, at Kolony TE, Rangapara in Sonitpur district. The meeting was addressed by Dr. Dilip Kr. De, Senior Medical and Health Officer, Kolony TE, awarded by Govt. of Assam for his selfless and exemplary service to the tea garden community especially in the field of TB.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Sanjoy Roy, District TB Officer, Sonitpur, Joydeep Roy, Prantik Orang, Santosh Sarmah and other TB staff. A loud and clear message was given to them to take an active and lead role in eradicating TB from the society by 2026, which is the aim set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the camp, a number of symptomatic people were identified and their sputum was collected for TB examination and along with this HIV screening was done.
