Awareness programme on implementation of labour laws held in Duliajan

DIBRUGARH: To celebrate the iconic week of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an awareness programme on 'Implementation of Labour Laws among Workers of the Unorganized Sector and Employers' was organized at Field Headquarters, Oil India Limited, Duliajan on March 13 under the aegis of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.

The event was attended by S K Roy, Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (C) Guwahati, Chiranjeev Saikia, Regional Labour Commissioner (C) Dibrugarh, P P Bastola, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Dibrugarh, Prasanta Borkakoty, Resident Chief Executive, Oil India Limited and Asit Das, General Manager (HR), BCPL along with other officials from the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India and Oil India Limited. The event was graced by Minister of State (L&E) & MoPNG), Government of India, Rameswar Teli, who in his address highlighted the various initiatives being taken up by the government, especially for the workers of the unorganized sector with special emphasis on introducing the e-shram portal.

S K Roy, Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (C), Guwahati, threw light on migrant workers and the various aspects associated with them. Chiranjeev Saikia, Regional Labour Commissioner (C), Dibrugarh, and P P Bastola, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Dibrugarh, also spoke on implementing various labour laws and the associated benefits.
