LAKHIMPUR: A crucial awareness programme on mediation was held in district judiciary campus on Tuesday in a befitting manner.
The programme was organized under the aegis of State Legal Service Authority, Assam in collaboration with District Legal Service Authority, Lakhimpur in the presence of Lakhimpur and Dhakuakhana Bar Association presidents, secretaries, other advocates, social activists of Lakhimpur, para-legal volunteers of Legal Service Authority and judiciary officials.
Lakhimpur District and Session Judge MA Choudhury, member-secretary of State Legal Service Authority, Satyanath Sarmah, Specially Trained Mediator-cum-Tinisukia District Bar Association’s advocate Suman Sarmah took part in the event as the resource persons. In their lecture, the resource parsons laid stress on the importance of mediation in the present day society and in the redress of dispute, role of complaints and plaintiffs, mediator, advocate and court in mediation.
