Awareness programme on multiple disabilities organized in Morigaon

MORIGAON: In order to aware people about multiple disabilities, Baraliya Welfare Society, a leading voluntary social organization of the State in collaboration with National Institute for Empowerment of Person with multiple disabilities, Chennai, organized a day-long awareness generation training programme on management of children with multiple disabilities under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, at Morigaon district library’s auditorium on Saturday.

The programme was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner Devashis Sarma in presence of Deepali Devi, retired Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department, Government of Assam, Psychiatrists Dr. Sangita Das, Minakshi Mahanta, DSWO Ahidul Islam, retired Deputy Director of NYK Tapas Kr. Pramanik. Dhananjoy Talukdar and DMC Pinki Moni Devi DPC Mousumi Kalita and GS Ankur Bora.

Accountant of NYK also spoke on the topic at length in the programme. Hari Mathai, Officer of NIE, Chennai delivered a speech in the programme. More than 100 AWW, ASHA and self help groups attended in the programme.
