JAMUGURIHAT: The Mangal Chandi Brahma Institute for Language, Literature and Cultural Research under Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) in collaboration with Arohan Foundation, Guwahati, is organizing a vibrant cultural event titled ‘Nrigosthiya Nrityar Chande Chande’ (In the Rhythm of Ethnic Dances’) on August 2 at the Xabha’s Guwahati office Sangeetacharya Lakshmiram Baruah Sadan from 3:00 PM onwards, informed Principal Secretary of AXX Debojit Bora.
In an official press release, Principal Secretary Bora stated that the event is being organized with the aim of fostering communal harmony and cultural integration among the various ethnic communities residing in the land of Assam. The event will feature an array of traditional dance performances by the Koch-Rajbongshi and Sarania Kachari communities including Machmoria (Jakoi) Dance, Polu Poha Dance, Nawan Khuwa Dance, Gowalini Dance, Kushan Dance, Hudum Dance, Koch-Rajbongshi Dance and Chorus Performances. In addition to the performances, the event will also host thematic discussions by experts on the cultural relevance and importance of these dances.
Dr Basanta Kumar Goswami, President of AXX, will grace the occasion as the chief guest, along with Sonabar Baruah, President of the Axam Sarania Kachari Xahitya Xabha, and Dr Samar Talukdar, a prominent figure from the Koch-Rajbongshi community, who will attend as distinguished guests.
