Axam Xahitya Xabha’s cleanliness activities in Pathsala earn praise

The 77th biennial session of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) successfully concluded in Pathsala, drawing an overwhelming crowd of 30 lakh attendees in the five-day programme.

PATHSALA: The 77th biennial session of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) successfully concluded in Pathsala, drawing an overwhelming crowd of 30 lakh attendees in the five-day programme. The event, held at Bhattadev Khetra, the main venue, covered 1,100 bighas of land and showcased a remarkable waste management initiative.

One of the event's standout achievements was its efficient and eco-friendly waste management system. To further promote cleanliness, a dedicated team of 79 office bearers and 478 workers worked tirelessly to maintain cleanliness at the venue. The drive was led by environmental activist Ananda Khataniyar, former brand ambassador of Assam's Forest and Environment Department and Ratul Roy, Chairman of Pathsala Municipality Board, along with Dhanjit Sarma, Rupam Baruah, Raju Das, and Himangshu Sarma.

The waste management team utilized 950 dustbins, used 500 bamboo broomsticks, and deployed six tractors to ensure proper waste disposal. Additionally, 250 banners of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan were displayed across the venue to encourage cleanliness and environmental responsibility.
