Bajali Raax Mahotav sees massive footfall of devotees

Raax Mahatsov, in the entire Bajali district including Helona, Pathsala, Patacharkuchi, Baghmara entered its eighth day.

PATHSALA: Raax Mahatsov, in the entire Bajali district including Helona, Pathsala, Patacharkuchi, Baghmara entered its eighth day. The ongoing popular religious and mega event of Raax Mahatsov here is in full swing. The mega religions and cultural event started on November 11 with colourful programmes.

The historic festival of Raax Mahatsov in Helona village has completed 104 years. Centenarian idols of Sri Krishna were repaired and they are on display. Thousands of people gathered in the Helona Raax Mahotsav to witness hundred-year-old repaired idols of Lord Krishna and many idols of different divine characters of Indian mythology besides large number of stalls of commercial establishments. While in Pathsala town, devotees from various parts of the State visited the 44th Raax Mahotsav.

In Patacharkuchi, this year more than 200 clay idols depicting the stories of epics, Veda, Mahabharat and Ramayana were installed in decorated stalls. A depiction of human-elephant conflict is the main attraction of Raax Mahotsav as it is the burning problem.

On the other hand, the people of Baghmara has been celebrating the Raax Mahotsav for a long time. People from all walks of life participated in the festival with tremendous enthusiasm. The festival also tightened the bond of unity among the people irrespective of caste and creed.
