Baksa District Launches an Awareness Campaign Through Street Plays to Promote Child Rights and Eliminate Child Marriage

The DCPU, in collaboration with the District Administration, Baksa, organized a series of street plays across prominent locations in the district to raise awareness about child protection issues.

Mushalpur: The District Child Protection Unit, in collaboration with the District Administration, Baksa, organized a series of street plays across various market areas and prominent locations in the district to raise awareness about child protection issues. The initiative was part of the Baal Bivah Mukta Bharat campaign, which aims to eliminate child marriage and promote child rights. The programme was formally inaugurated by Jitu Kumar Barman, ACS, Additional District Commissioner, Baksa, at Nikasi Market. The awareness campaign was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Lipika Barman, In-charge District Child Protection Officer, Baksa. Through engaging and impactful performances, the street plays highlighted critical child protection issues, including the prevention of child marriage, child labour, and child abuse. The initiative aimed to educate and sensitize the public, especially in rural and market areas, about the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and ensuring their well-being.
