BARPETA: The number of COVID positive cases is increasing day by day in Barpeta district. On Sunday evening, the district crossed the mark of 100 cases.
Barpeta Deputy Commissioner Munindra Sarma in a notification ordered all lower primary schools (both private and government) to remain close up to May 8. Accordingly, up to class V, there will be online classes for the pupils. However, there will be regular classes for students from class VI to X as per the strict COVID protocols. At present there are 113 COVID positive patients in Barpeta district, among those seven were discharged and three were sent to the GMCH for better treatment.
