‘Bathou older than other religions’: Biswajit Daimary

GORESWAR: “Bathou religion is older than other religions. Researchers have not been able to find out the actual time of inception of Bathou religion till today. We do not know many things of the world even after getting higher education.

The Bathou religion has given lessons on creation of the Earth, life and procedure of society thousands of years ago,” said Biswajit Daimary, Rajya Sabha MP, while inaugurating the open session of the silver jubilee of East Baksa district unit and Goreswar Anchalik Bathou Maha Sabha at Mainao Fwthar near Goreswar in Baksa district on Sunday.

The open session was presided over by Kabindra Boro, president of East Baksa district unit of Bathou Maha Sabha. Biswajit Daimary said that though there were 40 lakh Bathou devotees in India, yet the Bathou religion had not got government recognition. As the chief guest, Mantu Muchahary, the central president of All Bathou Maha Sabha, said that there was necessity of reformation in the Bathou religion. Addressing the devotees of Bathou religion as appointed speaker, Satish Chandra Ramciary, general secretary of All Bathou Maha Sabha, said that the philosophy of air, water, sun, Earth and the sky constituted the main philosophy of the Bathou religion. Without these five, there was nothing in this world. The Bathou religion was scientific, he added.

Suresh Iswari, publicity organizer of Bathou religion in West Bengal, former State Education Minister Thaneswar Boro, Dila Sev, publicity organizer of Bathou religion, also spoke in the open session about the rituals of Bathou religion. An attractive Bhutanese dance was performed along with Kherai and Bagarumba dance of the Bodos in the open session.
