LAKHIMPUR: Deka Xatradhikar Bhupendra Deva Goswami has been recognized as the Xatradikar of the Shri Shri Basudev Than Naruwa Xatra, the noted VaishnavPeeth of the north-eastern region, located in Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district.
Notably, the Xatradhikar designation of the Xatra had been lying vacant for seven months since XatradhikarRupendra Deva Goswami expired. During the long period, no ceremonial programme was organized in the Xatra due to the strict adherence to the COVID-19 protocol.
In order to recognize the Xatradhikar, the traditional 'XatradhikarNirmaliPradan' programme was organized on Wednesday with religious fervour. On this occasion, the due religious rituals were observed in a sacred environment amidst blended notes of naam-kirtan. In such an environment, the DekaXatradhikarBhupendra Deva Goswami was given the nirmali as Xatradhikar following the tradition of the Xatra.
In the same programme, Lilakanta Deva Goswami was recognized as DekaXatradhikar while Bhogendra Deva Goswami was recognized as Kanishtha (junior) DekaXatradhikar. The NirmaliPradanprogrammes were administered by BordowaNaruwaXatra (Nagaon) XatradhikarDebananda Deva Goswami, PuraniSamaguriXatra (Majuli) XatradhikarNakul Chandra Deva Goswami and KowamoraSolguriXatra (Sivsagar) XatradhikarNiranjan Deva Goswami respectively. In addition to them, several prominent personalities were present in the programme along with the disciples and devotees of the Xatra.
