KOKRAJHAR: Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) in collaboration with the Kokrajhar district administration has successfully organized Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya, Power-@2047 (Bijulee Mahotsav) from July 25 to 30 in Kokrajhar district as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate 75 years of Independence. Under this initiative, the celebration was organised from July 25 to July 30, 2022 as per the direction of the Ministry of Power and Ministry of New Renewable Energy.
The grand finale event held at the premises of Kokrajhar Deputy commissioner's office on Saturday, started with the introductory speech delivered by Varnali Deka, Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner. She highlighted key achievements made by Power department to meet up the energy demand in the State.
Nandita Garlosa, Power Minister etc, Pramod Boro, CEM of BTR, Lawrence Islary, MLA of 30 Kokrajhar East (ST) LAC also addressed the gathering highlighting achievements of the power sector in the recent years.
During the ceremony, achievements over the last 8 years in the transformation of country's Power Sector, including the Renewable Energy sector were highlighted, covering central and respective State government's achievements as well as aspirations up to the year 2047.
