GOLAGHAT: Under the aegis of Sri Satya Sai Sewa Samiti Golaghat and in association with Sri Satya Sai Vidya Vihar School Golaghat, the 96th birth anniversary of Sri Satya Sai Baba was observed recently at Satya Sai Bal Vikash Kendra in Golaghat.
To mark the occasion, a day-long programme was organized maintaining all COVID protocols. The programme started with lighting of lamp and hoisting of Prashanti Dhwaj by former district president ( Sibsagar) of Sri Satya Sai Seva Sangathan, Jatin Dutta. After that the teachers and students and members of Satya Sai Seva Samiti Golaghat performed Astottar Naam. In the programme, the statue of Apurba Kumar Borgohain, who was the Director of Sri Satya Sai Vidya Vihar School and former state coordinator of Satya Sai Sewa Sanstha, was unveiled. The statue was unveiled by the vice-president of Satya Sai Sewa Sanstha ( Zone 1), Rajeev Borgohain.
Later, Narayan Sewa event was held under which food and blankets were distributed among the poor and needy people. The Forest Department officials distributed saplings for plantation. To mark the occasion of the 96th birth anniversary of Sri Satya Sai Baba, a total 96 earthen lamps were lit.
Chairman of Sri Satya Sai Vidya Vihar School, Dr Giridhar Phukan, Principal Subhashish Rajkhowa, Vice-Principal Subrat Kar, Pradyumna Borgohain, teachers and students, including teachers from Satya Sai Vidya Vihar School Balijan and Holy Child School, were present in the programme.
