Biswanath district administration organizes workshop on good governance

While observing Sushashan Saptah, the Biswanath district administration organized a workshop on Friday to showcase the best practices of governance that have been practised.

BISWANATH CHARIALI: While observing Sushashan Saptah, the Biswanath district administration organized a workshop on Friday to showcase the best practices of governance that have been practised.

The workshop was graced by Mahadananda Hazarika, who in his keynote address, emphasized the delivery of services to the people as a part of good governance. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Munindra Nath Ngatey, Additional Deputy Commissioners Liza Talukdar, Dr Surjya Kamal Borah and Biswajit Saikia, Assistant Commissioners, the Circle Officers and the heads of all government departments.

In the meeting, Dipan Barman, Additional Deputy Commissioner and i/c SDO (Civil) Gohpur, presented on the projects named Samridhi, Sanskar and Super 50. In another presentation, Atlanta Borah, Mahatma Gandhi National Fellow, showed the good governance activities undertaken by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Women and Child Development to reach out to beneficiaries.

In his speech, Deputy Commissioner Ngatey appealed all the heads of the departments to keep up with the good governance in the coming days for better delivery of services to the citizens.

The Handloom, Textile and Sericulture Department, Biswanath also organized awareness programme at Rajgarh under Gohpur subdivision on selling of handloom products through procurement centre under the scheme of 'Swanirbhar Nari' and marketing of sericulture products through value addition. The officers and officials exchanged their views with the participants and urged them to avail benefits for achieving better opportunities of self employment.
