SILCHAR: Agitated BJP leaders and workers took out a rally in Silchar in protest against the Congress for allegedly throwing empty bottles targeting the convoy of the Chief Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, in Golaghat on Monday. Rupam Saha, the Cachar district President of the BJP said that the way the Congress workers behaved with an elected Chief Minister was an insult to democracy. “Every political party has a democratic right to voice protest but that should not cross the limit,” Saha maintained. He said that Himanta Biswa Sarma was undoubtedly the most popular as well as the successful Chief Minister in the history of Assam and hence frustrated Congress party resorted to unlawful means to harass him. Similar protest rally was brought out in Sribhumi too.
