JAMUGURIHAT: BJP candidates contesting for both the municipal boards, Jamugurihat and Sootea, became victorious. Out of six wards where the civic poll held, the candidates from the BJP won all the six seats. It is to be noted here that four candidates were declared uncontested prior to the election. After declaration of Jamugurihat as town, the civic election was held for the first time at Jamugurihat. All the ten seats of Jamugurihat municipal board were won by BJP candidates at Jamugurihat. Similarly, the civic election was held at Sootea for the first time after declaration Sootea as town.
