Bodo Folk Song and Musical Instrument Workshop Concludes in Tamulpur

Tamulpur: “Tamulpur is rich in the field of culture of indigenous communities and it has been playing a great part in accelerating the development of culture of the State,” said Harendra Boro, vice-president of Tamulpur District Boro Sahitya Sabha, on Monday while addressing a public meeting held at the auditorium hall of Tamulpur District Boro Harimu Afad.

On Monday, a meeting was held on occasion of the closing ceremony of the 15-day workshop on Bodo folk song and musical instrument which was conducted by Rameswar Brahma, president of Tamulpur District Dularai Boro Harimu Afad. The workshop had started on September 16 under the Chief Minister’s Total Rural Development Yojana in association with Nabajagaran Abhijan Society and was organized by Tamulpur Cultural Centre. Addressing the meeting, Cultural Development Officer of Tamulpur Cultural Centre, Juganta Bayan said that the Chief Minister of Assam had taken initiative to preserve the endangered folk songs and this programme was also part of that mission. More than 50 students participated in this workshop.
