UPPL led BTR government is all set to celebrate the completion of two years of present coalition government at BTC Secretariat field on December 20

KOKRAJHAR: The UPPL (United People's Party Liberal) led BTR government is all set to celebrate the completion of two years of present coalition government at BTC Secretariat field on December 20 in a befitting manner. The preparations are going on in full swing including beautification of the town.

The Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), a 6th schedule council administration came to the political map of India after the signing of BTR peace accord on January 27, 2020 between the Government of India, Government of Assam and Bodo movement groups comprising ABSU, all factions of National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) and United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) to ensure development of socio-economy, language, literature and culture and protection of land and political rights of the Bodo and tribal people. The accord has brought peace and security to the people of the region along with development getting good momentum.

UPPL led coalition government in BTC with Pramod Boro as Chief Executive Member (CEM) took the reign of council administration after the victory in 2020 BTC general election with the promise of reformation, easing corruption and establishment of good governance system. Boro and his party took over the charge on December 20, 2020 and the UPPL led government is completing two years in power on December 20.

A souvenir, 'Two years of BTR Government (2020-2), A journey of Peace, Progress and Good Governance' would be brought out by the department of Information and Public Relations, BTC to highlight the achievements of various entrusted departments of BTC. Assam Governor Prof. Jagadish Mukhi is likely to grace the occasion as the chief guest in the celebration of two years of present government.
