SILCHAR: Amid remorse and pride, residents of Aolwala village on Sunday evening bid a tearful adieu to their brave son Biresh Sinha, army jawan who died along with four other colleagues in a tragic copter crash in Arunachal Pradesh.
On Friday, Rudra, an advanced light helicopter of IAF crashed in a difficult terrain in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh near the China border. Till now death of five jawans was confirmed by the authority and Biresh, a resident of Ratabari, was one of them. Body of Biresh Sinha was recovered on Saturday. Babulok Sinha, Biresh''s father was informed by the Commanding Officer over telephone that his son was among the five jawans who died in the copter crash. Babulok, who too served Indian Army said, they were shocked to hear the tragic news but at the same time they felt proud that their son died while serving the motherland.
Sinhas in this remote village is known as a family of soldiers. Apart from Babulok Sinha, a retired army officer, three of his five sons were in the security forces. Biresh, fourth among the siblings, leaves behind his wife who lives in Guwahati along with their daughter.
On Sunday, last remains of Biresh Sinha was received at Kumbhirgram airport and before reaching the village he grew up in, the coffin was taken to the army base at Masimpur. Later in the evening, the last rites of Biresh Sinha were performed in his home village with State honour.
