BSF apprehended Indian National along with 8000 nos yaba tablets from South Salmara

Guwahati: Troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force Ex-06 Bn BSF, seized Yaba tablets (R-7) 8000 Nos and cash amount of Indian Currency Rs 35,000 on 24th January’ 2020, from the bordering area of Vill- Kaleralga Pt-1, Dist –South Salmara (Assam).

Acting on a tip-off, on 24th January’ 2020 at about 1530 hrs, troops of BOP Boreralga carried out a special operation near International border and apprehended an Indian national along with 8000 Nos Yaba tablets and cash amount of Indian Currency Rs.35,000, while he was trying to smuggle from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended Indian Yaba tablets courier has been identified as- Kabel Ali, 28 years, S/O Mokdam Ali, Vill- Kaleralga Pt-1, Dist- South Salmara (Assam).

FIR is being lodged at PS-Kharuabanda against the apprehended person under NDPS/Drug and Cosmetic Act and he along with seized items were handed over to PS-Kharuabanda for further legal action.

Keeping in view the vulnerability of border, heightened activities of the smugglers and anti-national elements on the border, BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes & illegal infiltration and are making all-out efforts to prevent the commission of such crimes.
