BTC Executive Member visits rural health centres in Chirang district

KOKRAJHAR: The Executive Member of Health and Family Welfare, BTC, Arup Kr. Dey visited rural health centres in Chirang district on Tuesday to assess the shortcoming in the centres. He was accompanied by nominated member of BTC, Madhav Chandra Chetri and departmental officials.

In his first leg, Dey visited Gurubhasa State Dispensary and took stock of the condition of the hospital. He held a meeting with the management committee of Gurubhasa State Dispensary, party workers and local intellectuals to find out the ways to fulfill the shortcomings. He assured that he would take initiative to bring more doctors, staff and to fill up vacant posts. He also said that the construction of building of health centre and quarters would be completed soon.

The management committee of Gurubhasa State Dispensary submitted a five-point memorandum to the EM of Health and Family Welfare. Meanwhile, EM Arup Kr. Dey also visited the Runikhata State Dispensary, Shantipur State Dispensary and Hatisar Primary Health Centre along the Indo-Bhutan border. He assured the people that all the shortcomings of the health centres would be looked into with due attention.
