RANGIA: Tension prevails in the entire Rangia area following the abduction of a businessman in broad daylight on Wednesday. According to eyewitnesses, when Jeherul Islam, the owner of a pharmacy on Nuruddin Path opposite the Rangia town Higher Secondary School and former Rangia High Madrassa HS School, was talking with two persons, suddenly five youths reached the pharmacy in a four-wheeler. They dragged Jeherul Islam to the vehicle forcefully. When Islam tried to flee from the clutches of the youths, they beat him and after dragging him inside the vehicle, sped off.
The vehicle moved towards Nalbari. Nobody tried to rescue Jeherul Islam. After being informed, Rangia police rushed to the spot and started an investigation. But till the filing of the report, no information has been received regarding Jeherul Islam's whereabouts.
