Gossaigaon: During the 11-hour bandh called by NESO on Tuesday, a family narrowly escaped from being burnt at Anthaibari village of Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar district.
Bandh supporters targeted a Magic vehicle bearing registration number AS16C-6557 and set it on fire when it was on the way from Bhauraguri towards Gossaigaon. Six members of a family were travelling in the vehicle at that time. They somehow managed to escape but two pigs which were in vehicle burnt to death. The incident has been deeply condemned by the passengers of the vehicle and locals present on the spot who have also demanded enquiry into the matter along with proper compensation to the victims.
