LAKHIMPUR: A voluntary organization, Indigenous undertook a programme to help the needy people in connection with Deepawali. On Saturday, the voluntary organization distributed bundles of candles among the needy people living at Kahiduwar village under Lakhimpur district. Located on the bank of the River Subansiri, away from almost 30 km from North Lakhimpur town, this village is affected by flood caused by the river every year. This year too, almost 40 families of the village had to suffer during the flood in last rainy season.
