Centre Allocates Rs. 100 Crore For New Sainik School In Assam's Karbi Anglong

The Centre has sanctioned Rs 100 crore for a new Sainik School in Langvoku, Assam, enhancing education and discipline for students.

DIPHU: The Central Government has sanctioned a grant of Rs. 100 crore for the setting up of a new Sainik School in Langvoku in Assam's Karbi Anglong district. The Defence Ministry has sanctioned this amount as grants-in-aid for the financial year 2024-25, which is specifically for the school building construction.

Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu expressed his gratitude on social media, thanking the Defence Ministry for the funding. He stated, “This will greatly enhance quality education and discipline among our students,” and extended special thanks to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for his support. The Rs. 100 crore is part of a larger allocation of Rs. 335.87 crores for educational initiatives.

Deputy Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly Numal Momin also acknowledged the central government’s contribution, calling it a proud moment for the state. He added that this will be Assam's second Sainik School situated in the 108th Bokajan (S.T.) Legislative Assembly Constituency. Momin stressed that the school will go a long way in molding the future of Assam's youth by inculcating discipline, leadership traits, and a sense of strong service to the country.

The establishment of the Sainik School will likely bring valuable educational advantages and overall development to the region.
